The man from nowhere... this shot has me stumped.

So I just watched the man from nowhere. Great movie from china. Anyways so there is this shot in the movie where the main character is cornered so runs and jumps out a window with the camera following him... in one shot. Now obviously they could have seamlessly cut it so it look as though its one shot, but the camera fell so perfect. Maybe it was one shot... Anyways check it out. Its pretty nuts.

DUBSTEP? Yeah, I'll take a shot at it.

I can remember the first time I heard dubstep. A lot of it was cleaner and softer then the hard hitting dirty bass we hear today... but It was probably late 2008, and it was right before it went mainstream to what it is in 2011. Although dubstep had already been around for like 6 years previous.  Anyways, I'm not going to bore people with specifics.
But me? I LOVE dubstep. It's that hard hitting bass drop that makes me loose control. Excision and Datsik, Downlink are just some of the few name that when I hear there name... instant bassgasm. After have an intense session of my head nearly exploding and regrowing itself and a long night talking with a friend about what if we started a dubstep group combined with hardcore screeeeemo...I decided I would also jump on the board to see if I have what it takes to creates beats and bass like BOWCE.
After doing some research the process of creating dubstep is fairly straight forward. Most of the bass wobbles are created in a VST program. Massive being the most popular was my first choice to pick up. As far as using a program to composite it all together, I found people use fruityloops, reason, ableton and cubase... just to name the most popular. I personally have more experience using abelton live. (from when I rap with my other group) My next step is learning how to create dubstep bass wobbles and different patches. (basically presets) There is a ridiculous number of tutorials on youtube on how to create these.

I found Ascian blogspot page that has great  free tutorials on how to create a number of different dubstep elements in ableton live. You can also buy over 40 patches from him for around 20 USD. Check him out. http://ascianproductions.blogspot.com/

Great tutorial on Morphing & Evolving Pad In Massive.

The First Post. Blogger: But Why?

So this is my first blog post. I've actually had this spot for a while. So I decided I'm going to start posting my projects I'm working on and interesting personal adventures I have. In case you don't quite know who I am or what I do, I originally went to college for Film / Video Production. Through a chain of events I have became a motion graphic artist, although any chance I get to direct commercials and music videos, along with post production work I take it.
I first created this page back a couple years ago when I was working for a social media marketing company. Back then blogging was the new thing to do. Its actually ironic why I created this. It was not because I'm a blogger, or I love to broadcast my personal life to millions of people online. Actually I made it so no one else could take http://mickeybarker.blogspot.com/ It came about when I tried to create my twitter account and someone had already taken my name on twitter. (www.twitter.com/mickeybarker)
At first I wasn't that surprised. I mean my name is actually quite popular, its actually a complement if someone wants to be named after me. kidding. If you google my name you'll find a facility manager who also is a professional golfer.  On Wikipedia, there is a mickey barker. Actually his name is Allan Micheal Barker, which doesn't make much sense because why would you make a nickname for someones middle name and disregard the persons first name. Anyways he is an English former professional association football player. He played for Newcastle United, Hartlepool United and Gillingham between 1973 and 1984.... blah blah blah. Anyways, back to twitter. So at the mickeybarker account.
I wasn't angry until I look at who took this. So first of all the person who took the account, their name is Linda Rankin. Why Linda would you create an account that is not even your name? And second of all Linda, you have no tweets. So its completely pointless to have a twitter account in the first place. Anyways, this long drawn out blog drove me to create this blog spot. But unlike Linda Rankin I'm actually going to use it... This is going to be my personal blogs spot on all interesting projects I'll be working on. I'll try to content, pictures and videos with every post.
Keep up to date with me on twitter, facebook and google plus.
Enjoy this video I created for a medical company. Enjoy. ;)
